Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Staff Data Engineer to join our Digital Strategy & Analytics team. This position is located in Melbourne, Florida.

Job Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Developing a roadmap from existing tools, processes, and efforts towards a program specific implementation of optimized engineering and programmatic processesDevelop and implement a program-specific Data strategy that supports the Enterprise Data StrategyManage Data Science practices for prescriptive, predictive, diagnostic, descriptive, and cognitive analytics through automation, storage elasticity, and on-demand self service provisioning of all data types and lifecyclesEnable storing, searching, processing, and securing of extremely large structured or unstructured data setsProactively identify issues and inefficiencies within the business to develop and deploy solutionsDrive the adoption of data analysis methodologies across program operations for improved performance analysisLead the monitoring and analysis of operational data to identify trends, issues and opportunities, and provide recommendations/solutionsActively engage with program leaders and key stakeholders to identify and understand operational problemsDesign and manage the data infrastructure, network, and system automationUser Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design and developmentAbility to communicate complex analytical subject matter across varied audiences

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science (BS) in a related Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline and 12 years of related professional experience; OR Master of Science in a related STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional experienceExperience developing and executing data strategies that consider big data solutions such as data lakes and/or data warehousesUnderstanding of elastic data storage and archive storage lifecycle managementExperience with data analytics tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Tableau, etc.) and techniquesExperience with large scale distributed software and agile software development methodologiesExperience with High Performance Computing (HPC) SystemsExperience integrating AI/ML into business processesExperience developing and enforcing a governance strategy for data democratization within security parametersLeadership or management experience over a technical teamYour ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science5 years of hands-on software development experienceStrong understanding of business and engineering processes, tools, and techniquesExperience with UI/UX design and developmentProven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teamsDemonstrated experience developing product visions and fostering effective engineering teamsDemonstrated technical leadership of product development teams that have successfully delivered customer-driven productsExperience developing big data solutions related to elastic data storage and archive storage lifecycle managementExperience collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing insights from multiple data sources across different network domainsExperience with NoSQL Databases (e.g., MongoDB, Neo4J, etc.)Understanding of Northrop Grumman policy, process, and productsAbility to make decisions with minimal supportExperience in a program management roleGraphic design experienceTop Secret clearanceCompTIA Security+ Certification or Equivalent 8570 Certification

Primary Level Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
