Burns McDonnell is seeking a Staff Civil Engineer with related environmental experience to add to our growing Environmental Services Global Practice engineering team in Greenville, SC. We are searching for a self-motivated and experienced engineer to lead or support a wide variety of civil and environmental engineering designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects, including high-voltage transmission line routing and siting, natural gas, renewable projects, commercial development, power generation, water treatment facilities, emergency response and contribute to implementing department strategy, vision, and culture.
The position offers the opportunity to practice in a variety of technical areas, including but not limited to site civil design, hydraulic analyses, stormwater management, regulatory compliance, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration and management. The role will require technical leadership and mentorship of team members. The Engineer will work with project teams throughout the design and construction process, adapting plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs. The ideal candidate is comfortable and engaged with the coordination of multi-disciplinary projects.

Leading or supporting engineering teams to deliver well-coordinated, high-quality designs for civil or environmental engineering projects.Coordinating with, executing and monitoring all aspects of multidisciplinary projects with varying technical complexity.Preparing documentation for design projects, including design criteria, technical letters, memorandums, reports, drawings, detailed design packages, and cost estimates.Providing strategic and/or planning services to clients.Directing and reviewing work products prepared by junior engineering staff.Project management duties include executing project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and client expectations.Establishing client relations and involvement with marketing, contractual, management, and design meetings.Championing QA/QC procedures.Executing internal personnel training.All other duties as assigned.
