We are seeking a talented individual to join our Controllership team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Urbandale and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.
As a Staff Accountant II - Revenue Recognition, you will be a key expert in applying ASC 606 standards, ensuring accurate contract review and financial reporting. You’ll lead projects, support month-end close processes, and collaborate with internal teams and auditors to maintain compliance and drive process improvements. This role offers the opportunity to influence global accounting practices while developing your expertise in a dynamic, team-oriented environment!
We will count on you to:
Serve as a subject matter expert on company revenue recognition policies in accordance with ASC 606Analyze complex transactions against supporting documentation to ensure compliance with company accounting policyTake a lead role in cross-functional projects that create efficiency and drive global consistency by partnering with finance, operations and legal teamsCollaborate with internal and external auditors to answer questions and provide support for queriesReview current control landscape for automation opportunities, including the creation of proposals and project plansWhat you need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experiencePrior accounting experience (2+ years preferred), including experience with journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and month-end closeIntermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Excel, including pivot tablesStrong communication skills, both written and verbalExperience working with internal or external audits and implementing process improvements.Effective problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent time management skillsWhat makes you stand out?
