Purpose:
As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization by managing accurate and timely accounting operations. You will be responsible for preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a passion for numbers, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Location: This position will work onsite out of our home office in Sandy Springs, GA, Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts regularlyBuild and document scalable accounting processes and workflows to improve efficiency and accuracyManage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactionsAssist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statementsConduct variance analysis for budgets versus actuals and provide actionable insights to managementEnsure compliance with tax reporting and other regulatory requirementsSupport month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and reportingAnalyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actionsAssist with financial audits by preparing documentation and coordinating responses with auditorsParticipate in cross-training initiatives to support other areas of general accounting, ensuring flexibility across all accounting functionsRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field3 years of Staff Accountant experience in a similar role. Experience with process creation, documentation, and improvement a bonus Advanced Excel proficiency, including experience with VLOOKUPs, INDEX, SUMIFs, IF statements, and pivot tables for data analysis and reportingERP system experience (NetSuite is a plus, but not required), with the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems
