Robert Half is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to support our clients in the Poughkeepsie, NY area. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare and examine financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to relevant regulations. + Maintain the general ledger, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and conducting month-end and year-end closing processes. + Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis. + Process accounts payable and receivable, including managing invoices, purchase orders, and payment schedules. + Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure financial processes are streamlined and optimized. + Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws, including tax reporting and filing. + Assist with audits by preparing documentation and supporting the audit team as needed. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles. + Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP) and Microsoft Excel. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy. + Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). + Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. + Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
