Description We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a Contract-to-Permanent opportunity, ideal for candidates eager to grow their accounting expertise in a dynamic work environment. The role requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to work with large datasets. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review corporate tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail. • Record and maintain journal entries to ensure the accuracy of financial data. • Reconcile bank accounts regularly to maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records. • Perform account and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure alignment with general ledger entries. • Utilize advanced Excel functions, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and XLOOKUP, to analyze and manage large data sets. • Support general ledger management by maintaining accurate and timely records. • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures. • Assist with financial analysis and reporting as needed. • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data effectively. • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the accounting department. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and XLOOKUP, is essential. • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is highly preferred. • Strong understanding of journal entries, general ledger, and financial reconciliations. • Experience with corporate tax return preparation is a plus. • Ability to work with large datasets and ensure data accuracy. • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
