Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support our client in NW Portland, Oregon. This is a contract to permanent position that requires proficiency in managing financial tasks such as accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and grant accounting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in financial records. Responsibilities: • Oversee accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and accurate payment tracking. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to support accurate financial reporting. • Manage grant accounting responsibilities, including tracking expenditures and compliance with funding requirements. • Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders. • Conduct regular audits to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial records. • Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. • Analyze financial data to identify trends and inform decision-making. • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. • Support budgeting efforts by providing detailed financial insights and projections. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and solid understanding grant accounting. • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. • Proficiency in financial software and tools. • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. • Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Prior experience with Sage Intacct and ADP is preferred.
