Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Corona, New York. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for a meticulous individual who thrives in a dynamic non-profit environment. The role requires expertise in financial operations and reporting to ensure the organization's accounting processes run smoothly. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. • Perform detailed bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records. • Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries and account adjustments. • Coordinate and execute month-end close procedures to ensure timely financial reporting. • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to support organizational decision-making. • Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP to streamline financial operations. • Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and improve financial workflows. • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in all accounting practices. • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and resolving queries efficiently. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. • Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and managing journal entries. • Solid understanding of month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in financial data. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
