Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Clifton, New Jersey. This is a long-term contract opportunity that offers the chance to work on diverse accounting tasks and contribute to the financial accuracy of our organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail while managing daily transactions, reconciliations, and reporting. Responsibilities: • Record daily bank transactions and maintain accurate cash estimate reports. • Prepare and upload payment files to the bank system, ensuring seamless processing. • Update financial logs and reports, including cash receipts and benefit payments. • Add new vendors into the accounts payable system and maintain vendor records. • Reconcile multiple accounts, including bank accounts, investments, depreciation, and prepaid accounts. • Generate detailed financial reports such as cash forecasts, investment summaries, and performance evaluations. • Compile and manage 1099 data for compliance purposes. • Process journal entries, fund transfers, and billing files with precision. • Review outstanding checks and take appropriate actions to void or reissue payments. • Assist with audit assignments and ensure records are accurate and complete. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax, including sales tax and corporate tax returns. • Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger management. • Proficiency in reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports. • Familiarity with accounts payable systems and vendor management. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple accounts. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software. • Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
