Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of our non-profit organization through precise accounting practices and reporting. This is an onsite role requiring five days a week on location, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while advancing your career. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. • Manage general ledger accounts and reconcile bank statements to maintain up-to-date financial records. • Handle corporate tax filings, including sales tax and corporate tax returns, in accordance with regulatory requirements. • Utilize Sage Intacct software to track and report on financial performance. • Conduct regular audits of financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures. • Collaborate with the real estate department to oversee financial transactions and reporting. • Assist in developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures for the organization. • Prepare reports and analyses to support decision-making processes within the non-profit. • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings. • Provide support during financial reviews or audits, offering documentation and insights as needed. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax, including sales tax and corporate tax return preparation. • Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger account management. • Proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar accounting software. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. • Background in non-profit accounting or real estate financial management is preferred. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work onsite five days a week in Los Angeles, California. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
