Staff Accountant
Description Our client, a non-profit healthcare organization based in Lee, MA, is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization that prioritizes patient care while advancing your accounting expertise Responsibilities: + Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports to support organizational objectives. + Perform general ledger accounting, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses. + Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements. + Review and manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions. + Collaborate with internal departments to analyze financial data impacting operational performance. + Support audits—both internal and external—by preparing accurate documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. + Monitor and ensure compliance with healthcare industry regulations and standards in relation to financial practices. + Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Requirements + Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of professional accounting experience (experience in the healthcare or nonprofit sector is a plus). + Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with ERP systems is highly desirable. + Certifications: CPA or progress toward CPA designation is preferred but not required. + Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
