Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in NewCastle, Delaware. This role requires a candidate with a strong background in accounting to handle diverse financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will contribute to the organization’s financial success by delivering reliable financial data and reports. Responsibilities: • Handle daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Prepare and maintain journal entries and general ledger reconciliations. • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions in a timely manner. • Manage time and billing data, including tracking attorney billable hours. • Reconcile bank accounts, financial statements, and corporate tax returns. • Conduct monthly profit and loss analyses to identify trends and variances. • Accurately document assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses. • Compile and present financial reports for management and partners as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related field. • Proficiency in corporate tax, including corporate tax returns and sales tax. • Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger processes. • Ability to perform detailed reconciliations of financial statements and accounts. • Experience with profit and loss analysis and reporting. • Familiarity with time and billing systems, particularly for attorney billable hours. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Strong communication and analytical abilities.
