Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Norwalk, Connecticut. This is a 2-4month contract position that offers an excellent opportunity to support auditing activities and expand your skill set in accounting and operational support. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting systems and technology, as well as experience in audit-related tasks. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with auditors by retrieving and organizing data from accounting systems based on their specific requests. • Provide operational and administrative support to auditing teams during on-site reviews. • Assist in the preparation and review of corporate tax returns and sales tax filings. • Create and maintain accurate journal entries to ensure proper documentation of financial transactions. • Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed. • Support audit activities by ensuring the availability and accuracy of requested financial records. • Maintain compliance with corporate tax regulations and accounting standards. • Perform other accounting and operational tasks as directed to facilitate audit processes. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field with a strong focus on detail and accuracy. • Strong understanding of corporate tax, including preparation and filing processes. • Proficiency in handling sales tax calculations and compliance. • Experience with journal entries and general ledger reconciliation. • Familiarity with audit processes and the ability to support on-site auditing teams. • High level of technical proficiency in accounting systems and related software. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
