Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role offers the flexibility of remote work, with an initial onsite training period in Cleveland, Ohio. The ideal candidate will excel in managing financial records and ensuring compliance with corporate tax regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
• Manage sales tax filings and compliance across various jurisdictions.
• Record and maintain journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.
• Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and other reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Provide support during audits by gathering necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of tax laws and accounting principles to ensure compliance.
• Participate in training sessions to ensure familiarity with company systems and processes. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and filing procedures.
• Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger accounts.
• Familiarity with accounting software and tools.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
