Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in corporate accounting and financial management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounts payable, general ledger management, and tax preparation. Responsibilities: • Process up to 80 accounts payable invoices weekly with precision and efficiency. • Prepare and file corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations. • Manage sales tax reporting and filing in adherence to state and federal guidelines. • Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. • Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all entries align with company policies. • Utilize Sage 100 software to manage and streamline accounting operations. • Perform detailed 10-key accounting tasks to support financial accuracy. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Assist with financial audits by providing necessary documentation and support. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing. • Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance. • Proficiency in preparing and managing corporate tax returns. • Expertise in recording journal entries and maintaining general ledger accuracy. • Hands-on experience with Sage 100 accounting software. • Solid understanding of accounts payable processes and best practices. • Skilled in 10-key data entry with a high level of accuracy. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
