Description Robert Half is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented part time Staff Accountant for our client located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and efficiently to maintain financial integrity. • Manage month-end close activities, ensuring all deadlines and reporting requirements are met. • Reconcile accounts and maintain the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards. • Generate and analyze financial statements to support organizational decision-making. • Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for financial tracking, reporting, and analysis. • Assist with payroll processing in collaboration with the accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements. • Ensure compliance with grant accounting standards and funding requirements, providing accurate reporting as needed. • Support accounting processes related to non-profit operations, with a focus on accuracy and compliance. Requirements • A minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience with attention to detail is required. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred but not mandatory. • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel is essential for success in this role. • Experience with non-profit accounting and grant accounting is highly desirable. • Strong knowledge of account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and general ledger management. • Demonstrated reliability and trustworthiness, with a commitment to accuracy and detail. • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
