Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based onsite in Stamford, Connecticut, and offers a great opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities: • Process and code invoices with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring they are recorded correctly in the system. • Maintain the general ledger by preparing and posting journal entries. • Reconcile accounts and perform month-end closing tasks to ensure financial accuracy. • Utilize QuickBooks for daily accounting tasks, including data entry and reporting. • Monitor and manage accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments. • Review and verify financial documents for compliance with company policies and procedures. • Collaborate with team members to address and resolve discrepancies. • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and detailed reports. • Handle multiple accounting tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of professionalism. Requirements • A minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience, with the ability to adapt quickly to new tasks. • Proficiency in QuickBooks, with minimal need for additional training in the system. • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and coding invoices accurately. • Demonstrated experience with journal entries and general ledger maintenance. • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively. • Ability to work independently and professionally in a fast-paced environment.
