A well-established and highly respected organization in the Omaha area is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its finance team. This position will play a critical role in supporting day-to-day accounting functions, including grant and fund accounting, while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting background, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.This role offers a competitive salary, outstanding benefits, and a mission-driven work environment with exceptional opportunities for professional growth.ResponsibilitiesBalance and reconcile multiple grant accounts and budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance.Process budget revisions, journal entries, and fund transfers in a timely manner.Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements and support reports.Maintain accurate and organized records within the enterprise accounting system.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure fiscal integrity and proper financial oversight.Assist with internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation.Monitor financial activity to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies.Support process improvements and best practices in accounting operations.Qualifications and StrengthsBachelor’s degree in Accounting OR equivalent education combined with at least five (5) years of full-time accounting experience.Strong understanding of GAAP and fund accounting principles.Proficiency with enterprise-level accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy.Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Benefits and PerksExcellent health and dental plans with FREE individual coverage.Low-cost vision insurance.Retirement plan with up to 8.5% employer match.FREE tuition for employee and dependents.Tuition assistance at other colleges/universities for the employee.Professional development opportunities at no cost.Your New Organization
