Staff Accountant
Description CASH ACCOUNTANT - International, Privately Held Software Company My client, an international, privately held software company, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cash Accountant to join team. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate operational accounting, balance sheet completion, and compliance with relevant controls and governance. You’ll play a key role in monthly close processes, support statutory and regulatory accounting requirements, and contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a collaborative global finance team, gain exposure to ERP systems, and influence the future of finance operations through innovation and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: + Complete external and internal audit requests in a timely manner. + Participate in ERP testing, migration, and implementation activities. + Post and reconcile all collection bank transactions on a monthly basis. + Review and support subledger activities related to cash collections. + Partner with Accounts Receivable on daily cash reconciliation inquiries. + Prepare month-end journal entries for a three-day close process. + Manage and maintain bank downloads for shared locations. + Support other month-end activities, including commentary preparation and account analysis. + Escalate significant uncollected or uncleared cash transactions promptly. + Collaborate with outbound cash accounting for recurring escheatment processes, engaging internal teams and external parties to meet compliance deadlines. + Identify opportunities to improve timing, accuracy, and efficiency of bank reconciliations and journal entries. + Take on additional assignments as the role and team needs evolve. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. + CPA license or eligibility to pursue certification preferred. + 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a shared services or multinational environment. + Strong understanding of Cash Accounting and Record to Report processes, accounting principles, and controls. + Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) preferred. + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to work with large data sets. + Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. + Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment. + Interest in process automation and continuous improvement.
