Description Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to become an integral part of our dynamic finance team in Canton, Ohio. This part-time, contract-to-permanent position is ideal for a professional who excels at managing month-end financial processes, reconciling complex accounting entries, and thrives in a collaborative and casual workplace setting. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare, review, and post accurate journal entries to ensure precise financial reporting. + Reconcile general ledger accounts, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly. + Support month-end close processes by compiling, reviewing, and analyzing financial data. + Leverage advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel (such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP) to streamline reporting and improve efficiency. + Maintain and update accurate accounting records using IQMS or a comparable enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. + Provide ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. + Ensure all accounting tasks comply with established accounting principles and company policy. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting, with a strong focus on journal entries and general ledger management. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP. • Familiarity with IQMS or similar accounting software. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when handling financial data. • Ability to work effectively during month-end close periods, managing multiple priorities. • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
