Staff Accountant
Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our team in Weatherford, TX. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity offering the chance to work closely with all levels of management and directly support the Controller. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background—particularly in a manufacturing environment—along with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting functions, with a focus on Accounts Receivable, budgeting, forecasting, general accounting, and process improvement. Due to the size of the team, you will also be responsible for daily AR activities and customer communication. Key Responsibilities + Assign proper account codes to invoices and entries based on the chart of accounts + Work with intracompany vendors and customers to verify month-end balances, sales, and expenses + Reconcile assigned accounts and assist with month-end journal entries, reports, and GL reconciliations + Assist in budget creation and forecasting, lead meetings with key stakeholders, and prepare presentation materials + Verify shipping paperwork, generate and distribute invoices daily + Retrieve customer portal payments, process/apply payments (ACH, wire) into the ERP system + Investigate and resolve invoicing/payment discrepancies in collaboration with internal departments and customers + Process and track RMA credit memos in coordination with Quality and Customer Service teams + Monitor AR aging schedules and notify the Controller of overdue accounts + Assist in determining uncollectable accounts and initiate write-off approvals + Maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal teams + Support sales in establishing new customer accounts and payment terms + Work with production to understand sales changes and forecasts + Complete timely and accurate system transactions and maintain document retention + Support other departments, assist in audit activities, and maintain KPI reports + Cover AP and accounting duties during PTO or leave periods + Perform additional projects and duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s or additional certifications a plus) Minimum of 2 years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Solid understanding of accounting principles and US GAAP related to AR, AP, and GL activities ERP experience required; Visual ERP experience a plus Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (V-lookups, formulas, pivot tables) and proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint Experience using and editing PDFs Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
