Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. This is a Contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role, offering the opportunity to contribute to various accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax filings. As part of the team, you will work closely with the Senior Accountant and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial processes. Responsibilities: • Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring proper approvals and accurate general ledger distribution. • Manage accounts receivable collections and maintain positive relationships with clients. • Support the controller with month-end close activities, including calculating commissions and preparing journal entries. • Perform account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data. • File corporate and sales tax returns while maintaining compliance with regulations. • Conduct audits and verify financial documents for accuracy. • Analyze financial data and profitability metrics as requested. • Prepare and present financial reports to support business decision-making. • Handle special accounting projects as assigned by management. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an office environment; dealership experience is a plus. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively. • Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with vendors and team members. • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment. • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
