Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a Contract-to-Permanent position that offers the opportunity to work on diverse accounting responsibilities, including financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and real estate accounting and possess excellent attention to detail. Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations. • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. • Conduct detailed financial analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning. • Collaborate on budget preparation and forecasting to meet organizational goals. • Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with audit standards. • Ensure all tax filings, including corporate and sales tax, are completed accurately and on time. • Evaluate and correct accounting ledgers to maintain data integrity. • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and address discrepancies promptly. • Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting workflows. • Support construction and real estate development accounting, ensuring accurate financial tracking. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Proven experience in construction and real estate accounting. • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other accounting software. • Strong understanding of general ledger management and journal entries. • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. • Knowledge of corporate and sales tax regulations and compliance requirements. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and think critically to solve complex accounting issues.
