Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves handling key accounting functions and contributing to the accuracy of financial records and reports. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with regulations. • Manage sales tax filings and related documentation. • Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. • Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly documented. • Collaborate with other departments to support tax-related inquiries and audits. • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions. • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes. • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all financial information. • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to maintain compliance. • Provide support for special accounting projects as needed. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax and sales tax management. • Strong knowledge of preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns. • Proficiency in recording journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts. • Familiarity with financial reporting and reconciliation processes. • Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in accounting tasks. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
