Description Our client in the oil and gas industry, is seeking a Staff Accountant with at least 5 years of experience and NetSuite expertise to join their team. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, industry regulations, and proficiency in NetSuite ERP systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in the oil and gas sector and be prepared to support day-to-day accounting functions, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. + Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate entries and reconciliations. + Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. + Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and schedules related to oil and gas operations (e.g., production costs, royalties). + Collaborate with AP and AR teams to ensure timely processing and collections. + Record monthly revenue entries and reconcile with production data (specific to oil and gas sector). + Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and support audits as needed. + Utilize NetSuite to manage accounting functions, run reports, and improve process efficiencies. Requirements To be considered for this role, you must have the following experience: + Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry. + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus. + Skills: Proficiency in NetSuite ERP is required; advanced Microsoft Excel skills are preferred. + Familiarity with oil and gas accounting concepts, including revenue recognition, royalty payments, and joint interest billing (JIB), is highly desirable. + :High level of accuracy in handling financial data and reconciliations. + Ability to analyze discrepancies and recommend process improvements. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
