Description A growing nonprofit organization is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the team in Los Angeles, California! The ideal candidate will also have expertise in NetSuite and possess advanced skills in financial analysis to support decision-making processes at our mission-driven organization. This position is hybrid in the office Downtown Los Angeles and is contract to hire. Responsibilities: + Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis, preparing reports that guide organizational decision-making and resource allocation. + Account Reconciliation: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all records are accurate and compliant with nonprofit accounting standards. + Budget Support: Assist with the preparation and administration of multi-department budgets, providing insights and variance analysis. + Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee day-to-day accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and invoicing. + Compliance: Ensure adherence to GAAP and other regulatory requirements applicable to nonprofit organizations. Requirements + Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in nonprofit organizations. + Technology Expertise: Proficiency in NetSuite required; experience with nonprofit-specific systems a plus. + Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis and prepare actionable insights. + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar certification preferred but not required. + Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex financial data effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
