Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a Contract-to-Permanent basis in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and a solid understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to key financial operations and support the month-end close process. Responsibilities: • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions with accuracy and efficiency. • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records align with actual balances. • Assist in preparing and completing month-end close activities. • Create and maintain journal entries to support financial reporting. • Manage general ledger accounts and ensure proper documentation. • Prepare corporate tax returns and handle sales tax filings. • Maintain compliance with tax regulations and reporting standards. • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. • Provide support for audits and ensure all required documentation is available. • Analyze financial data to assist in decision-making and reporting. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Knowledge of corporate tax, including preparation of corporate tax returns and sales tax filings. • Proficiency in handling journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts. • Strong understanding of bank reconciliation procedures. • Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Expertise in corporate tax and sales tax compliance. • Ability to work independently while collaborating with teams to meet deadlines. • Hospitality industry experience is a plus.
