Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join a family-owned business in North Portland, Oregon. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to oversee essential daily accounting tasks while contributing to the successful implementation of a new financial software system. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial operations and a proven ability to adapt to dynamic environments. Responsibilities: • Perform daily account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice handling and vendor payments. • Prepare and analyze general ledger entries and financial statements. • Support year-end financial reporting and profit-sharing distributions. • Collaborate on the setup and configuration of accounting functions within Dynamics 365 Business Central. • Conduct user security setup and testing based on defined roles. • Reconcile open balances between the legacy system and the new software. • Generate and analyze queries to support financial data accuracy. • Assist in completing period-end tasks prior to system go-live. • Test and validate all accounting process flows to ensure seamless integration. Requirements • Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Strong experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger management. • Familiarity with journal entries and month-end close procedures. • Knowledge of Dynamics NAV or similar accounting software systems. • Ability to adapt to new software implementations and workflows. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. • Effective communication and collaboration skills. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
