Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in San Jose, California. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting overall accounting operations. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. • Manage sales tax filings and resolve related discrepancies. • Record and maintain journal entries to support accurate financial reporting. • Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly documented. • Assist in tax planning activities and provide insights to optimize financial performance. • Conduct reconciliations to ensure data integrity across accounting systems. • Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries. • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. • Analyze financial data to identify trends and assist in decision-making processes. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field. • Strong knowledge of corporate tax regulations and sales tax procedures. • Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns and managing journal entries. • Experience working with general ledger systems and financial reconciliations. • Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights. • Excellent organizational and communication skills. • Familiarity with accounting software and tools. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred.
