Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Contract Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at a leading manufacturing company. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of day-to-day accounting operations, as well as contributing to month-end/year-end close processes, corporate tax compliance, and payroll management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and advanced proficiency in Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger (GL) Management:
+ Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
+ Ensure proper coding of transactions and posting to appropriate accounts.
Month-End and Year-End Close:
+ Prepare and review journal entries (JE) for month-end and year-end close activities.
+ Conduct financial analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of reports.
Auditing Support:
+ Assist with external and internal audits by preparing required schedules and documentation.
+ Address auditor questions and provide necessary support.
Corporate Tax Compliance:
+ Ensure timely preparation and submission of corporate tax-related documents.
+ Assist with tax filings and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Account Reconciliations:
+ Perform bank account, credit card, and other reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
+ Investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
Advanced Excel Tasks:
+ Utilize advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.) for data analysis.
+ Create financial models and reports for management review.
Payroll:
+ Process payroll accurately and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
+ Handle deductions, bonuses, and time tracking for employees across departments.
MUST BE IN OFFICE 2 DAYS PER WEEK IN DALTON, GA / WORK FROM HOME 3 DAYS A WEEK.

Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ A minimum of 2 years of related accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
+ Proficiency in general ledger accounting and a solid understanding of month-end/year-end close processes.
+ Experience with corporate tax filings and compliance is highly preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of payroll processing and related rules/regulations.
+ Demonstrated ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
+ Advanced Excel skills (experience with pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP, and macros).
+ Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite is a plus.
