The Inventory Accountant is responsible for the maintenance, reconciliation, and analysis of Inventory balances as well as coordinating all annual physical & remote inventory audits at each location. They are at the fore in accounting and administrative tasks related to inventory, which includes maintaining controls, establishing processes, and handling all associated journal entries and account reconciliations. The incumbent will also have a pivotal role in maintaining and monitoring the fuel card program and GPS program with each location. This position interacts with most levels within the Company through providing information for use in analyzing and interpreting financial results.Union Tank Car Company (UTLX) manufactures, leases, and repairs railcars in North America for railroads and industrial companies. Maintenance, reconciliation, and analysis of inventory balances, turn time, and transactions.Organizes, coordinates, and actively participates in the audit of physical & remote inventory counts at all field locations (75+).Weekly review of inventory transactions on receipts and invoices for accuracyFacilitates the compliance of the fuel card program with each location and the Companies vendor.Ensure each truck has assigned fuel cards and each employee has a pin setup.Facilitates the compliance of the GPS program with each location and the Companies vendor.Review GPS to ensure all units are operating and all necessary tucks are equipped.Prepares journal entries for inventory counts & adjustments, fuel card spending, GPS spending, vendor rebates, purchase price variance, and inventory audit & obsolescence provisions.Prepares reports monthly regarding fuel consumption, inventory turns, and inventory obsolescence. Completes monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner.Analyze and submit capital expenditures closings to be added to the property ledger, which includes ROI analysis and coordinating with locations on the timing of assets placed into service.Creates, maintains, and improves reporting templates to provide ad hoc financial reporting to internal customers and key stakeholders.Skills & Specifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Detail orientated with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.Advanced MS Excel skills with the ability to learn new software or reporting tools.Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, andGenerally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Attention to detail and commitment to quality financial reporting.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with financial report writing.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and changing environment to completecomplex financial tasks with minimal supervision.Ability to travel for annual field services inventories, at least 4 trips a year during the second half of the yearEducation / Experience / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.Minimum of 2 – 4 years of related work experience in accounting and/or financial analysis.Experience with Dynamics AX, BNA (Fixed Assets) is preferred.Knowledge of OneStream and query tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Global Software Atlas is a strong plus.DISCLAIMER:

Pay Range:
