Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Riverside, California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Finance & Accounting department through efficient management of general ledger tasks, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and administrative support. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to maintain accuracy in financial processes. Responsibilities: • Prepare and post journal entries for recurring, adjusting, and accrual transactions to ensure accurate financial records. • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and intercompany transactions. • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including preparing audit-ready schedules. • Process vendor invoices and payments while maintaining accurate records and resolving discrepancies. • Generate and issue customer invoices, apply payments, and monitor accounts receivable aging to ensure timely collections. • Perform variance analyses and investigate discrepancies to improve financial accuracy. • Maintain fixed asset schedules, calculate monthly depreciation, and ensure compliance with asset management standards. • Respond to inquiries regarding financial and administrative matters and support audit preparation activities. • Create reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence to support internal reviews and operational decisions. • Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to ensure accurate and timely billing processes. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 1–3 years of accounting experience, including exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP. • Familiarity with accounting systems such as QuickBooks Enterprise and NetSuite. • Solid understanding of U.S. accounting principles and tax regulations. • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
