Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Kenmore, Washington. This is a long-term contract position within the higher education industry, offering an opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a university. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a high degree of accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining financial integrity. Responsibilities: • Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable and ensure timely posting of all revenues and general journal entries. • Operate and manage Solomon IV software to support accounting functions effectively. • Develop and manage forms and spreadsheets using tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Quicken. • Perform a wide range of accounting tasks with minimal supervision while ensuring precision and compliance. • Handle confidential financial data responsibly and exercise sound judgment in decision-making. • Collaborate with vendors, department heads, staff, faculty, and students to provide excellent customer service and resolve financial issues. • Prepare bi-monthly payroll and manage benefit functions accurately and efficiently. • Work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Generate financial reports and ensure their accuracy for both internal and external use. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Financial Management is preferred. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role. • Proficiency in Solomon IV software and intermediate-to-advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word. • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. • Ability to perform data entry quickly and accurately. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines. • High level of financial responsibility and judgment in handling confidential data.
