Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Worcester, Massachusetts. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to contribute to key financial processes and ensure accuracy in accounting operations. Responsibilities: • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. • Perform reconciliations of accounts to ensure data integrity and resolve discrepancies. • Manage general ledger activities, including reviewing and updating accounts. • Assist in the preparation of corporate tax filings and ensure compliance with regulations. • Handle sales tax reporting and submissions in a timely manner. • Collaborate on special financial projects to support organizational goals. • Provide support during audits by organizing and delivering required documentation. • Analyze financial data to identify trends and assist in strategic planning. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax and sales tax processes. • Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger management. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Proficiency in accounting software and tools. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. • Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments.
