Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Chesterfield, Missouri. In this role, you will handle key accounting tasks such as reconciliations, ledger maintenance, and financial accuracy. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles. Responsibilities: • Prepare and complete monthly reconciliations, including detailed balance sheet account reviews. • Accurately record daily bank activities to ensure proper financial tracking. • Post journal entries and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger. • Utilize knowledge of debits and credits to manage daily financial transactions. • Ensure reconciliations are properly documented and formatted using Microsoft Excel. • Collaborate with the team to facilitate a smooth and timely month-end close process. • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in account activity or balances. • Assist with additional accounting tasks and special projects as required. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. • Strong grasp of fundamental accounting principles. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliation formatting. • Experience with NetSuite is advantageous but not mandatory. • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capabilities. • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines. • Familiarity with corporate tax processes, sales tax, and overall tax compliance. • Knowledge of journal entries and general ledger operations.
