Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to manage payroll operations, ensure financial accuracy, and oversee essential accounting tasks for our organization. Based in Kapolei, Hawaii, this is a long-term contract opportunity ideal for an individual with strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of payroll and accounting processes. Responsibilities: • Accurately process biweekly payroll for all employees, adhering to relevant regulations and company policies. • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly to maintain smooth operations. • Maintain and audit payroll records, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. • Reconcile payroll accounts and assist in maintaining the general ledger. • Prepare and post journal entries related to payroll activities and employee benefits. • Examine accounts to verify the correct allocation of property management-related expenses. • Apply vendor payments and other property management expenses to appropriate accounts. • Generate payroll-related reports to support management in financial decision-making. • Contribute to month-end close activities, ensuring all payroll data is accounted for. • Collaborate with the team to enhance payroll and accounting processes. Requirements • Proficiency in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance. • Skilled in preparing and posting journal entries. • Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting. • Competence in processing payroll for under 100 employees, including biweekly payroll cycles. • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online. • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze financial data accurately. • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in all activities.
