Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Stuart, Florida. In this role, you will oversee various accounting tasks, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring precise payments to vendors. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining accuracy and compliance with established policies. Responsibilities: • Process and record invoices, credit notes, purchase orders, and expense reports with precision and timeliness. • Ensure accurate and timely payment of vendor invoices by preparing and managing payment schedules. • Reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable ledgers, identifying and resolving discrepancies effectively. • Upload receipts and invoices into the credit card expense management tool to maintain organized records. • Support month-end closing activities by assisting with accounts payable-related tasks. • Maintain accurate documentation and records for all accounts payable transactions. • Assist with year-end tax reporting, including preparing 1099 forms and other relevant documents. • Update and maintain the accounts payable job manual to ensure it reflects current processes. • Provide backup support for team members and contribute to special projects as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field. • Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger activities. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Experience with account reconciliation and intercompany transactions. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. • Familiarity with accounting software and expense management tools. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors, government entities, and internal teams. • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
