Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Addison, Illinois. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and supporting operational efficiency. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who are detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to contribute to a dynamic organization within the printing and publishing industry.
Responsibilities:
• Perform daily reconciliations of postage accounts to ensure financial accuracy and alignment across departments.
• Enter and maintain cost and job data within internal systems to uphold data integrity.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for print and mail projects while planning resource allocation effectively.
• Collaborate with vendors to obtain quotes, evaluate cost efficiency, and support procurement processes.
• Drive process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
• Support cross-departmental collaboration to ensure seamless financial and operational processes.
• Assist with journal entries and general ledger maintenance to maintain accurate financial reporting.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and account reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze data and create detailed financial reports.
• Provide input on system enhancements and contribute to maintaining the accuracy of financial platforms. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in reconciliation, cost analysis, and financial data maintenance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and spreadsheet management.
• Experience with software platforms such as QuickBooks or similar accounting systems.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and journal entries.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration across departments.
