Description Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant in the Middlesex County, NJ area. As a Staff Accountant you will be responsible for entering journal entries, financial reporting, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions and more! The ideal candidate will have experience with SAP. If you have Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and 2+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant, this might be the opportunity for you! Responsibilities: • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries, financial reports, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and investigating variances. • Assist with the fiscal month-end and quarter-end close processes, coordinating with finance reporting teams to meet deadlines. • Support the consolidation and financial reporting process for quarterly and annual requirements. • Handle ad hoc projects and assignments as needed to support the department. • Meet strict financial reporting deadlines, demonstrating strong organizational and multitasking skills. Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. • Strong understanding of US GAAP principles; public accounting experience is a plus. • Minimum of 2-3 years of staff accounting experience, preferably with exposure to fixed assets and financial reporting. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as V-lookups and pivot tables. • Experience with SAP is highly desirable. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment. • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks with strict deadlines. • Self-starter with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to learning new processes.
