Staff Accountant SUMMARY The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing all residential accounting processes. This role assists the Assistant Director of Finance in directing the financial activities of the hotel, safeguarding the assets, and preparing all financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and hotels’ standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Job duties include; although are not limited to: + Overseeing day-to-day financial comparisons from property management to residential systems + Assisting with account collections and account aging for HOA assessments + Reviewing and invoicing owner concierge accounts monthly + Providing owner revenue payable information to residential team monthly + Monitoring and managing relationships with owners & residential team + Handling all owners inquiries professionally and timely + Researching and resolving guest bill inquiries + Working with hotel accounting systems including Opera, Great Plains, and Owner Relations + Preparing and posting month-end closing entries + Producing and distributing monthly financial packets to owners + Performing balance sheet reconciliations QUALIFICATIONS + High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred + Previous experience in finance required + Previous experience with Opera preferred + A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in customer service + Excellent written and verbal communication skills required + Strong analytical skills required + Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours a day. Walking and standing are occasionally required. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
