Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in analyzing financial accounts, categorizing expenses, and preparing detailed reports. Responsibilities: • Conduct thorough analysis of accounts to identify spending patterns and categorize expenses accurately. • Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to support month-end and year-end closing processes. • Generate comprehensive financial analysis reports to assist in decision-making. • Collaborate with team members to develop and monitor the annual budget. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. • Provide support for audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations. Requirements • Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts. • Strong experience in account analysis and financial reporting. • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed financial analysis and interpret data. • Familiarity with annual budgeting processes and tools. • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team setting. • Strong communication skills to present financial data clearly and concisely.
