Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Biddeford, Maine. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial records, preparing reports, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to precision and problem-solving. Responsibilities: • Perform inter-company billings and reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy across entities. • Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly, focusing on accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets. • Assist in the preparation and review of monthly financial reports and presentation packages. • Complete bank reconciliations and manage petty cash transactions. • Prepare and record journal entries for monthly closing processes. • Maintain and update records for capital projects and fixed asset systems. • Contribute to special projects related to budgets, standard costs, and financial analysis. • Support corporate and sales tax return preparation and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Requirements • Proficiency in corporate tax and sales tax processes. • Solid understanding of preparing corporate tax returns. • Hands-on experience with journal entries and monthly closing procedures. • Strong knowledge of general ledger reconciliations and account analysis. • Familiarity with fixed asset systems and capital project management. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. • Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
