Description The Robert Half contract finance and accounting team is looking for a skilled Staff-Senior Accountant to join our client's team in Truckee, California. In open ended contract role, you will play a pivotal part in helping with financial processes, ensuring compliance, and supporting various accounting tasks. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong background in construction-related accounting. This position supports the Controller with the day-today accounting activities for a family-owned business. This is an onsite role, located in Truckee, CA. Responsibilities: • Manage sales tax processes, including accurate calculation and timely submission. • Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain precise financial records. • Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. • Utilize QuickBooks to manage accounting tasks and streamline financial operations. • Process lien releases and ensure all associated documentation is complete. • Handle time and materials billing for construction projects with accuracy and efficiency. • Support accounting functions related to residential construction projects. • Collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights and reports. Requirements •Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance highly preferred • Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and processes within the Construction industry. • Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger activities. • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks software. • Familiarity with lien release documentation and procedures. • Expertise in time and materials billing practices. • Background in accounting for construction projects, particularly residential construction. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
