Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. In this contract role, you will play a vital part in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and supporting month-end activities. Responsibilities: • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency. • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the general ledger. • Perform account reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity. • Assist in month-end close procedures, including preparing financial reports. • Analyze and resolve discrepancies in accounting records. • Collaborate with team members to support financial audits and compliance. • Utilize Microsoft Excel to create and manage spreadsheets for reporting purposes. • Maintain organized documentation for financial activities and transactions. • Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting operations. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. • Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and journal entries. • Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Proficiency in account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
