Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Foster City, California. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with a solid background in accounting who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with tax regulations. • Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain accurate financial records. • Process journal entries while adhering to established accounting principles and guidelines. • Analyze sales tax data and ensure timely reporting and payments. • Collaborate with other departments to support financial audits and reporting requirements. • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data and documentation. • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards to maintain compliance. • Provide support for special projects and initiatives as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field. • Proficiency in corporate tax preparation and reporting. • Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and processes. • Hands-on experience with journal entries and general ledger management. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Familiarity with accounting software and tools. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
