Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for growth and stability within the private medical industry. The role will begin as a part-time position, with the potential to transition to a permanent role based on performance and business needs. Responsibilities: • Record journal entries accurately and ensure proper posting to the general ledger. • Process daily cash receipts and maintain organized records. • Perform bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies. • Assist with month-end closing procedures, including preparing necessary reports. • Support payroll processing and maintain an understanding of payroll systems and schedules. • Monitor residential attendance records daily and manage bi-weekly payroll schedules. • Collaborate with the team to ensure financial operations are smooth and compliant. • Learn and utilize Fund Ez and Paychex systems effectively, with training provided. • Attend weekly in-person meetings to review progress and discuss key objectives. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting, including journal entries and general ledger management. • Familiarity with payroll processes and systems such as Paychex. • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation and cash receipt handling. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. • Ability to adapt to new accounting software with training provided. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication skills for team collaboration and reporting. • Availability to work part-time hours initially, with potential for a long-term transition.
