Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with strong expertise in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial operations. The role requires an individual who can ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes while contributing to the overall success of the organization. Responsibilities: • Manage the full Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle, including processing invoices, onboarding vendors, handling disbursements, and automating accounts payable workflows. • Strengthen and maintain internal controls for payables to ensure timely payments and compliance with organizational policies. • Reconcile accounts payable subledger to the general ledger during month-end close processes. • Maintain vendor master data to facilitate year-end issuance of 1099 forms in alignment with tax regulations. • Collaborate with FP& A teams to support cash forecasting and analyze spending trends. • Administer procurement and expense systems, such as Tipalti Approve and Navan, ensuring seamless operations. • Resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies, ensuring all vendor-related transactions are accurate and well-documented. • Present monthly accounts payable reports, including trend analyses and insights, to the VP of Finance. • Oversee customer billing operations by managing accounts receivable aging, tracking incoming payments, and driving collections efforts. • Prepare reconciliations and analyses, such as bad debt assessments, to ensure accurate revenue tracking and reporting. Requirements • Proven experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting tasks. • Proficiency in financial systems, including NetSuite and Tipalti. • Strong skills in bank account reconciliation and preparing journal entries. • Ability to manage aging reports and track collections effectively. • Familiarity with vendor contracts, customer agreements, and financial documentation processes. • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail. • Strong communication skills to collaborate across teams and resolve inquiries. • Knowledge of compliance and audit preparation processes.
