Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Morgan Hill, California. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to critical accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting and tax-related activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of corporate tax processes, general ledger management, and sales tax procedures. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. • Manage sales tax reporting and remittance processes. • Record and reconcile journal entries, maintaining accuracy and completeness. • Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring proper classification and timely updates. • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide accurate financial data and insights. • Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and support. • Analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures. • Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing detailed reports. • Monitor changes in tax laws and advise on compliance adjustments. • Maintain organized financial records for easy access and retrieval. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and reporting. • Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and procedures. • Proficiency in managing journal entries and general ledger accounts. • Familiarity with financial statement analysis and reconciliation. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines. • Proficiency in accounting software and tools. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
