Staff Accountant
Description Robert Half is currently hiring an experienced Staff Accountant to join our elite Full-Time Engagement Professionals (FTEP) program. Key Responsibilities: + Accounting Operations Ownership: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance. + Month-End and Year-End Closures: Execute and review monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities by reconciling accounts, preparing balance sheets, and ensuring accuracy of financial statements. + Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze income statements, balance sheets, and other key financial reports for management decision-making. + Audit and Compliance Support: Assist in readiness activities for external and internal audits, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines. + Process Optimization: Implement and recommend improved methodologies to enhance the efficiency of accounting workflows and financial reporting processes. + Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including operational staff and senior leadership, to support financial objectives and solve complex challenges. Requirements Requirements: + Experience: + A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accounting operations, including general ledger management, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting (Source: SG25 US Finance and Accounting). + Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and ensure accurate reporting is preferred. + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. + Technical Skills: + Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills. + Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or Dynamics is preferred (Source: SG25 US Finance and Accounting). + Understanding of GAAP and other regulatory compliance frameworks. + Certifications and Skills: CPA certification or progress toward CPA required; additional certifications such as MBA or CMA preferred (Source: SG25 US Finance and Accounting). + Problem-Solving and Attention to Detail: Strong analytical thinking, organizational skills, and a high degree of accuracy in work deliverables. Preferred Qualifications: + Proven success managing the full accounting cycle in mid- to large-size organizations. + Familiarity with industries such as construction, healthcare, nonprofit, or real estate (Source: SG25 US Finance and Accounting). + Hands-on experience with financial reporting and preparation for external audits.
