Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California, for a Contract-to-permanent opportunity within a non-profit organization. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial processes, ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger, and supporting budgetary and reporting needs. This position is full on site in the office Downtown Los Angeles. Responsibilities: • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly and annual financial reports, collaborating with program managers to analyze budget performance and financial trends. • Assist in developing, revising, and monitoring program budgets to align financial strategies with organizational objectives. • Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations, allocations, and journal entries, ensuring compliance and proper documentation. • Handle accounts payable tasks such as invoice processing and check printing, as well as accounts receivable duties like generating and distributing invoices to partner agencies. • Support audit preparation by gathering and organizing necessary documentation for both internal and external audits. • Work closely with internal teams, funders, and stakeholders to analyze financial data, providing actionable insights and fostering transparency. • Identify opportunities for improving financial processes and collaborate with the team to implement best practices. • Assist the Controller with various financial projects and initiatives to enhance overall financial operations. Requirements • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and bank reconciliation. • Proficiency in handling journal entries and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. • Skilled in using accounting software, with experience in Sage Intacct being highly preferred. • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain high attention to detail. • Strong communication skills Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
